This super car is truly a testament to Ferrari’s ingenuity. According to the maker the F430 “signals the arrival of a brand new generation of Ferrari 8-cylinder models”. The F430’s highly innovative design is directly derived from Ferrari’s Formula 1 single seaters and applied for the first time ever to its road cars. Two of these innovations are world firsts for production cars: E-Diff also known as the Electronic Differential is feature that has long been used in F1 single seaters. After years of refinement, the E-Diff now comes standard on the F430. The mechanism is a computer controlled limited slip differential which varies distribution of torque based on inputs such as steering angle and lateral acceleration. Another novel addition is the wheel mounted rotary switch, known as the manettino to Formula 1 drivers. The switch manages the integrated systems governing vehicle dynamics.
Similarly, the engine of this vehicle is a drastic departure from previous models. The 4.3 L V8 engine ends the 50 year tradition of “Dino” engine models. The result is improved performance in performance, weight and reduction of dimentsions.
Inspired by the legendary Enzo Ferrari, the body of the car reflects many classic elements such as the rear styling, arrangement of the lights and the shape of the air vent for the engine. The 430 model, however, is far more curvaciuos and aerodynamic.
The F430 was received with applaud from both consumers and critics. Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson had remarked that the F430 was “nothing less than spectacular” in all environments. Now you too can enjoy the incomparable Ferrari experience without the heavy price tag.
